SUMMARY:Six Years in the Making
DESCRIPTION:This shed is more than just a structure: it’s a testament to patience\, community\, and perseverance. It took six years to bring the project to life\, navigating the City’s permitting process and bringing together an architect and structural engineer who generously donated their expertise pro bono. A volunteer construction supervisor also helped ensure the work stayed true to the approved plans. What began as an idea became a labor of goodwill\, made possible by the dedication and generosity of everyone who helped make it happen. After years of hard work\, the shed project is finally becoming a reality and we’re excited to share the finished result!

SUMMARY:Now\, we finally have started building the shed
DESCRIPTION:The One World One Nation was one of the recipients of the\n KLAB Community Beautification Grant in 2020. However\, it took almost five years\n of getting the plans approved from the Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering since\n the space is publicly owned. It is a sidewalk converted into a food forest. Now\, we finally have\n the permit to build and we will start ground breaking on November 15\, 2025.\n We are looking for volunteers to help build this custom-made multifunctional shed. It is a shed\n that will serve as storage\, greenhouse\, and rainwater catchment.\n \n\n This project has been made possible through the support of Farm LA with guidance\n from Emily Gliecher. The grant proposal was done through the expertise of\n Jenny Burman. The project had been fiscally sponsored by LA Ecovillage Institute\n through the assistance of Lois Arkin.\n \n\n This project has been supported by the Adopt A Median project headed by\n Gerry Valido. Architectural design by Kirill Volchinskiy through the\n assistance of Engineers Without Borders. Initial architectural design by\n Joshua Tabasuarez. Engineering permit assistance through Tanat Sadikit.\n Construction supervision by Richard Ospina.\n \n \n\n\n Download Shed Details\n Download Permit 1\n Download Permit 2
